WHAT IS A PAVE DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING?

Pave is a term that was derived from a cobblestone road. If you look at a cobblestone road, you will see the resemblance. The top of the ring has tiny drilled holes where the right hand diamond rings are to be placed and the appearance is that of a paved road (hence the name).

You want to make sure that when you look through the loupe or magnifying glass that the diamonds are spaced equally throughout the ring. Also, when you feel a pave ring, the diamonds should feel the same. If some diamonds protrude more than others, this might mean that the diamonds have not been placed properly or that the holes were not drilled correctly. If this is not examined carefully, you risk losing a diamond. Also make sure that the diamond bezel necklace are cut properly, if not they will appear lackluster and dull.
